We would like to inform you about an upcoming symposium on Contemporary Issues in Primary Thermometry, taking place in Santander, Spain, from May 13 to 15, 2026. The symposium is organized within the framework of the Euramet EMP Research Project “Dissemination of the redefined kelvin (DireK-T)”, under the auspices of Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP).
The event will address current challenges and developments in thermodynamic temperature realization and dissemination following the kelvin redefinition. The program includes lectures and practical sessions on gas-based methods, Johnson noise, Doppler broadening, and emerging quantum techniques, as well as fundamentals of temperature metrology.
It is intended for metrologists from NMIs, calibration laboratories, and researchers requiring precision thermodynamic temperature measurements. Participation is limited to 35 attendees, and registration closes on April 17, 2026.
