CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers) is a French public research and teaching institution and is the DI in France for the units of temperature, length, mass and luminous intensity. The researchers of CNAM involved in this project work in the “Thermal Metrology” department of the joint laboratory LNE-Cnam, which is in charge of the realisation and the dissemination of the national temperature standards. The “Thermal Metrology” department performs research in the fields of primary thermometry (Acoustic Gas Thermometry, Radiometric Temperature Measurements), and in the realisation of the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90). It is one of the leading contributors to the new definition of the kelvin, is fully involved in the MeP-K, with a long experience in the construction and the study of HTFPs and AGT. Major technical equipment relevant to the work include two Acoustic Gas Thermometers with their respective adiabatic calorimeters, for the realization of the thermodynamic temperature between 5 K and 200 K. CNAM has had active participations in relevant iMERA-Plus, EMRP and EMPIR projects.
