CEM is the Spanish NMI responsible for the maintenance and dissemination of the measurement national standards. The Temperature Division is responsible for the development, maintenance and dissemination of the thermodynamic temperature unit: the kelvin by means of the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90) and realizes the ITS-90 from –189.3442 ºC (triple point of argon) up to 2800 ºC. CEM has a well demonstrated previous experience in participating and/or piloting key comparisons in thermometry: e.g. EURAMET.T-K9, CCT-K10, CCT-K7.2021, SIM.T-K9.1 (pilot) and EURAMET.T-S3 (pilot). CEM has given significant contributions to a number of EMRP and EMPIR projects dedicated to the advancement of temperature metrology.
