The Laboratory of Metrology and Quality (LMK) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FE), University of Ljubljana (UL, Slovenian: Univerza v Ljubljani – legal entity) is a designated institute (DI) under the national Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (MIRS). Laboratory (MIRS/UL-FE/LMK – classification according to EURAMET as associate member and DI of Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, MIRS) is a holder of a national standard of the thermodynamic temperature and humidity. Laboratory’s calibration measurement capabilities (CMC) in the field of thermometry and hygrometry are comparable with the best similar capabilities of European countries and other countries. The MIRS/UL-FE/LMK realizes ITS-90 from -189,3442 °C (triple point of argon) up to 1553 °C (melting point of palladium). UL facilities which are relevant to this project include: All the ITS-90 defining fixed points from the triple point of argon (83 K) to the freezing point of silver (1235 K); several high-quality standard platinum resistance thermometers from different manufacturers; apparatus for non-contact temperatures and blackbodies; homemade software for calculation of specific parameters in calibration of non-contact and contact thermometers; mechanical workshop and prototyping facilities
